Eleanor Sorensen lives on Auckland’s North Shore with her husband, her three children aged six, four and almost one, and the family’s spaniel. Life is “loud and busy”. She is a yachting journalist but living greener is her passion and she is in the process of launching a new low-waste cleaning products brand with her husband.

A typical morning at my house is…Mornings are always busy, as we juggle breakfast, getting ready for school and then out the door for the walk to school. The kids and I all eat breakfast together at the table before the rush begins.

My favourite Te Atatu Toasted cereal is…I love the Original Blend. It’s a great balance between delicious and healthy. And the almonds are so good!

I love Te Atatu Toasted cereal because…It makes eating a healthy breakfast really simple. I particularly like it as it keeps me feeling full until lunchtime, which so many other cereals don’t.

I eat it with…usually some home-made yoghurt, or just milk. My six-year-old has recently discovered the muesli too and he likes it with milk and banana chopped over it.

The best thing about signing up for a subscription to Te Atatu Toasted is…How easy it is - I don’t have to remember to buy it at the supermarket, and because it’s such a big packet it isn’t always running out.

If I’m not eating cereal for breakfast, I’m having…Good old porridge is a firm family favourite. Otherwise toast, or if it’s a special occasion then pancakes!

Other boutique NZ food brands I love include….We love theCheese Cartel which is a monthly cheese subscription box that lets us try a wide range of New Zealand’s best cheeses. Highly recommend it!

My next holiday will be to…Wanaka. My sister just moved there and I can’t wait to visit her.

My favourite restaurant or café is…Tough question! I don’t have a firm favourite - I love the variety of all the restaurants in Auckland. We're lucky to have lots of great cafes and restaurants local to us, so we like supporting as many of them as we can.

I believe the key to good health is…Balance. Everything in proportion. We also try really hard as a family to make healthy living a normal part of family life and we love getting out and about on walks and beach time etc.

My goal for 2021 is…To keep learning about more ways to live more sustainably, and hopefully to get our new business off the ground! Watch this space.
