Everyone has a different reason for buying their first Thermomix. For many people it is to reduce the grocery bill, get back to enjoying cooking or eat less processed foods. My reasons were a mix of these but it was mainly to have fun and create fabulous memories, I’ve only had it a month and I already have so many awesome stories.

Thermie Stories
Making Complicated Simple
I was house sitting at my sisters and she gave me a Hello Fresh leek and chicken risotto to make, It was chop this, fry that, put aside, get another pan etc …….. I thought, I wonder if I can make this in my Thermomix, so I searched Cookidoo for a similar recipe and followed the Chicken and Leek risotto, it made it so easy, no chopping, frying or stirring and all in one pot and delicious!
Less mess
I had friends over for dinner last night and we had such a fab night, I made Chicken Korma with cashews and Roti breads, when they left I only had 4 bowls, 4 forks, a fry pan (for frying the roti) and the Thermo server to wash. Less than 5 minutes later, all were in the dishwasher. Before, after a dinner party, my kitchen looked like an exhausting trail of destruction! Also, Thermie was already washed using the self-cleaning mode.
The Chelsea buns
My sister had a pot luck at her house and there were these most amazing looking Chelsea buns, I knew they were home made because they were all encased in a battered cooking tray. So, I asked “who made these?” Emily (16) replied “Me! I was in a café yesterday and I saw Chelsea buns for $9, they looked amazing but I thought I can make them way cheaper than that, so I went home and searched Cookidoo and made these.” I’m not sure which recipe she made but they looked like these.
Ice cream
I’m experimenting with ice cream! It is such a crowd pleaser. Also I really dislike all the additives in shop bought ice cream. I made some for my niece and nephews. We were all off to my cousins for dinner the next night and they said – “Can we make this again and take it to theirs?” They all loved it, my sister said to me “That is such a cheap and easy dessert – frozen banana and berries” . The Thermomix gets the consistency perfect. I have also made Fruity dream and strawberry icecream.
Hummus
I’ve whipped this hummus recipe up several times now it’s great with carrot sticks or the Seeded Protein Crackers recipe on cookidoo. I love that I don’t have to have tahini paste (you just use sesame seeds and it all gets blitzed). Whenever I see people put hummus in their supermarket trolly, I think to myself, you could make that quicker than a cup of coffee (literally), for way less cost and without the antioxidants and preservatives.
Salads
I’ve found since having the Thermomix I am eating more salads, and not intentionally but it is so easy. I had Thermie at a friends place and I said “I’ll make the carrot salad” They were all gob smacked about how quick and delicious it was. Another one I love is the Beetroot Salad and a friend said she loves these two the 5-Second Traffic Light Salad and the Halloumi salad, so I’m also going to do those.
