Healthy Blend is a low sugar muesli. It’s about 3% sugar, low in salt, and made from seeds, nuts and wholegrains you can actually see. If you’ve just bought your first bag, thank you. Here’s everything you need to know to get the best out of your new breakfast.
A lot of supermarket cereals call themselves healthy but are closer to dessert. They’re often loaded with added sugar, salt, colours, flavourings and filler like cornflakes and rice bubbles.
I started making my own because I wanted something better for breakfast. Healthy Blend has about the same sugar as Weet-Bix but 15 times less salt. You can read the whole label, and there’s nothing on it you need to look up.
Less than you’d think. One serve is 1/3 of a cup. Healthy Blend is mostly seeds, nuts and wholegrains, so a small bowl is genuinely satisfying.
If you’d like a free blue scoop with your next order, just add one to your order. One scoop is one serve, so there’s no guessing. A little goes a long way, and that’s why a bag lasts longer than it looks.
My favourite is a scoop of Healthy Blend with a dash of milk, 1/3 cup of plain yoghurt and some fruit. Berries and kiwifruit are both good choices because they’re lower in sugar.
Go for plain yoghurt rather than fruit yoghurt. Fruit yoghurts often have more added sugar than you’d expect, which undoes the good work.
It should, if it’s made from the right things. The fibre from the wholegrains and the protein from the seeds and nuts take longer to digest. That means no mid-morning crash and less reaching for a snack at 10am.
Many of my customers who are managing type 2 diabetes eat Healthy Blend every morning, mainly because it’s low in sugar and keeps them full. Everyone’s different, though, so if you’re managing diabetes, it’s worth checking with your doctor or dietitian about what works for you.
I sell online across New Zealand and at Auckland farmers markets. I don’t sell in supermarkets. Selling in big bags direct to you means I can keep the price fair without cutting corners on ingredients. It also means I get to know everyone in the Te Atatū Toasted whānau.
You can order whenever you need a bag or set up a monthly subscription so it just arrives. Subscribing is the most cost-effective way to buy, and you can skip a month or cancel any time.
If you have not bought it yet, you can purchase here.
If you would like to add a free blue scoop to your next order, you will find it here.
I hope you enjoy your breakfast as much as I do.

If you’re eating gluten-free in New Zealand, breakfast can be the hardest meal to get right.
