There is something divine about the mix of golden syrup, butter and oats. Using our Healthy Blend in this recipe gives nice addition of wholegrains, nuts and seeds, making it a little healthier without losing the deliciousness.

 

Ingredients:

200g salted butter cut into cubes

80g golden syrup

100g soft brown sugar

250g plain flour

150g Te Atatu Toasted Healthy Blend Muesli

2 teaspoons ground ginger

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

 

Method:

Line a 20 x 20cm tin with baking paper.

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees celsius fan bake.

In a saucepan, melt the butter, brown sugar and golden syrup over a medium heat, stirring until fully melted and mixed together.

In a separate bowl, add all the dry ingredients, the flour, muesli, ginger, baking powder, pour the melted ingredients in and mix well.

Press firmly into the lined tin with a spatula or back of a spoon.

Bake for 20 minutes, remove from the oven and let it cool. Cut into squares.

Store in an airtight container, maybe it will last 5 days? It’s never lasted long enough to test that!
